After winning the silver medal at the Paris Olympics 2024, Giorgia Villa became world-famous for being one of the best gymnasts in the world. And rightfully so! At the tender age of 21, she brought her country a lot of pride. But did you know, she has another claim to fame? Her love for the iconic Parmigiano Reggiano cheese! She turned this passion into her side hustle and promoted them by striking poses that can only be described as iconic!
Olympic Silver-Medalist Posing With Parmigiano Reggiano
According to an article which was recently published by The Indian Express of IE, Giorgia Villa is the first Italian gymnast in the last 96 years to have won an Olympic medal. And only at 21 years old! But it seems that her accomplishments are now shadowed by her side hustle.
She is sponsored by Parmigiano Reggiano, the original Parmesan that is only produced in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. The cheese has a very meticulous making process which begins right from the feed of the cow from which the milk is sourced for the cheese.
What tickled the Internet’s fascination with Villa’s cheese-mongering was her iconic poses that she does with the wheels. From hugging them to doing splits on them, the poses are as delightful as they are impressive.
Benefits To The Emilia-Romagna Region Owing To Her Fame
In addition to sparking hilarious jokes, her popularity has also inspired a renewed interest in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. Often considered the food capital of the country, its contributions to Italian cuisine and the culinary world at large are unparalleled.
Looking at these amusing pictures of Villa, one commenter on X (formerly known as Twitter) writes that it is quite impressive to see someone go from cartwheels to cheese wheels. Another commenter said that they hoped that the photographer asked her to “say cheese.”
It is certain that Villa is now the Internet’s favourite cheese lover.
