Travelling is always fun. Whether with family or friends, exploring unknown foreign lands has always been exciting. One such foreign land loved by Indians is Singapore. Most likely, you have seen at least one Instagram story or post from a well-known traveller to Singapore. The Singapore Tourism Board declared that the number of Indian tourists visiting Singapore had risen to over one million in 2024. Singapore achieved the milestone of one million Indian visitors two months ahead of schedule compared to 2023.
Singapore’s Milestone Of One Million Indian Visitors
The millionth Indian tourist to Singapore in 2024 arrived at Changi Airport on October 31, thanks to Singapore Airlines flight SQ-421. India’s tourism market grew by 12% between January and October 2024, ranking third among Singapore’s tourism source markets.
According to Markus Tan, the regional director of STB for India, the Middle East, South Asia, and Africa, Singapore welcomed its one-millionth Indian visitor two months ahead of schedule in 2023, proving its popularity as a top short-haul travel destination for Indians. Tan further mentioned that the company is still dedicated to providing innovative and captivating experiences that appeal to Indian tourists, making sure Singapore is a top travel destination for many years to come.
Strong connections and a variety of experiences make Singapore more appealing to Indian tourists. A two-year MOU with PhonePe for UPI transactions and a strategic relationship with MakeMyTrip for distinctive vacation packages are just two examples of the marketing campaigns and partnerships STB has started with Indian firms. Furthermore, Singapore’s hidden treasures are highlighted in an exclusive vlog travel series starring actress Ananya Panday.
