Singapore’s Pacific Orchard Hotel Named World’s New Best Skyscraper
Pan Pacific Orchard, nestled in the vibrant shopping hub of Singapore, has been named the best new skyscraper in the world. The 140-metre-tall hotel opened its doors in June 2023. And it has since gained global recognition for its unique design and architecture. This skyscraper is known across the world for its commitment to eco-conscious architecture.
Designed by WOHA Architects, the design of the hotel highlights a unique approach to high-density urbanism. You will see a beautiful blend of luxury with eco-friendly innovations and lush greenery here that will transport you to a whole different world! From solar panels and a rainwater harvesting system for irrigation to an on-site biodigester to process food waste, the hotel has it all.
To make this hotel greener, the hotel authorities have added towering trees, gardens, and pools to its premises. In fact, Pan Pacific Orchard has a green plot ratio of over 300%! This means that the landscaped areas exceed its footprint by threefold. Pretty impressive, isn’t it?

Other Prestigious Awards For The Hotel
Furthermore, Pan Pacific Orchard also bagged ‘Best Tall Building In Asia’ and ‘Best Tall Building’ award in the 100m-199m category. The CTBUH announced the award winners during its recent conference held in London and Paris.
As per an NDTV report, two other Asian skyscrapers received recognition at these conferences. As per reports, Malaysia’s Petronas Towers bagged the Global Icon Award. Meanwhile, China’s Greenland Hangzhou Century Centre was crowned Asia’s Best Tall Building.
Pan Pacific Orchard was made as a ‘Hotel in Nature’. And we would say that with its vertical urbanism, the hotel has truly achieved this feat! Indeed, it’s amazing to see how an urban skyscraper has holistically incorporated greenery into its design. What are your thoughts on this? Let us know in the comments section.
