Before starting on a journey, whether it’s on a train or a plane, we wish for safe travels, along with a hassle-free journey. After all, nobody wishes for any complications in their travel journey, as that can affect their holiday plans. However, something of this sort happened with the passengers of an Emirates aircraft. It was set to depart from Russia but was returned to stand because of some complications. Here’s what happened in the incident.

Emirates Flight Returns To Stand After Reports Of Smoke

On June 30 Friday, an Emirates flight EK176 was supposed to depart from St Petersburg in Russia for Dubai. However, it was returned to stand after smoke was reportedly detected on the plane. As a result, passengers were deboarded and the local authorities and fire service thoroughly checked the aircraft for precautionary purposes. In a statement by the airline, as reported by Khaleej Times, it was mentioned that the flight was returned as smoke was reportedly detected during pushback for departure. After this, the passengers were reboarded and the aircraft departed with a delay. While nobody wants a delayed flight, it’s better to be safe and late by ensuring everything is as it is supposed to be, than being sorry.

However, the report also mentioned that the Russian media which first reported the incident revealed that investigations are underway for establishing the cause of this.

This is not the first time that smoke was in an aircraft. Recently a United Airlines flight UA1158, which operates through a Boeing 777-200, was also turned back and returned to base after the reports of smoke in the flight deck. The flight was headed to Hawaii from LA and in a report by Simple Flying, it was revealed that the crew reported smoke in the cockpit and parts of the cabin after 30 minutes from takeoff. So, the captain circled back to Los Angeles before touching down 45 minutes after the takeoff and firefighters were ready. Coming back to the Emirates flight, it’s worth noting that there was a delay of approximately five hours.

These incidents really do make us wish and pray for an uneventful flight journey while travelling.
