Society President Issues Notice To Limit Parcel Deliveries
SOCIETY PRESIDENTS ARE INSANE!

X user Shagun, @upshagunn, recently posted a warning notice issued by the society president of her cousin’s apartment building. In the notice, the society president has asked all residents to limit their daily parcel deliveries as the excessive daily deliveries are causing trouble to the security guards in the buildings.
The notice was issued after the security guards complained that the “large number of parcels coming in during the festive period” is “affecting their workflow.” As per the notice, the security guards in the society have been receiving residents’ orders, coordinating with the delivery boys, and even helping with OTPs. All this has been hampering their work.
Highlighting a particular block in the notice, the society president even mentioned that bachelors living in the society get 10-15 deliveries daily! The society management has asked people to limit their daily deliveries to 1 or 2 orders. If they are not able to do so, then the residents can “hire personal security guards to coordinate with the delivery boys!”
Here’s How Netizens Reacted To This Society Notice
We’re sure we hear about excessive parcel deliveries enough from our parents but to be called out by your society president? That’s a whole new level of craziness! Surprisingly, the internet was divided on this warning notice. Many people supported the notice and pointed out how it isn’t the security guard’s job to receive people’s parcels. On the other hand, people thought it wasn’t fair to limit the number of deliveries people can have in a day. In the middle of all this, there were tons of hilarious comments on this matter as well, so scroll on and check them all out.
They have a point. In India we think that a security guard is the whole sole incharge of everything.
Don’t treat him like your baggage collector.

100% agree, it’s a very valid complaint.

There is nothing wrong in that request. How much effort does it take to me more thoughtful in a community living set up? What if they start asking them to come to the gate to collect their orders than allowing the delivery person in?
— Gee (@MusingGee) September 18, 2024
Imagine hiring a security guard for receiving online orders
— ThirdEye (@3rdEyeDude) September 18, 2024
That is a reasonable request. Who gets 10-15 parcels a day?
— Wolf (@Airwolf54321) September 18, 2024
Baat toh sahi hai lekin from gaurd’s pov.
Woh society ki rakhwali kare yaa din bhar OTP share karta rahe…🤣🤣

Security Guards are not there to collect your parcels. They are not anyone’s personal server. You order stuff you make sure to receive them yourself
— Ajay Kishore Das (@sankha1981) September 18, 2024
It’s a valid notice. Nothing wrong in that request
— JRR (@JRReddy07) September 18, 2024
It doesn’t seem to be a society president issue.
The notice clearly says, security guards HAVE to “receive orders on people’s behalf,” – that’s the issue.
+ he also mentions a solution: “hire ur own guard”
Nothing wrong in the notice😶— ⚡Neo⚡ (@NeoTweetTimes) September 18, 2024
We cannot help but laugh out loud at this apt Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah reference in the comments!

This is literally their job to control who comes and goes inside the building. Although its the responsibility of the person to personally handle otp and get the items delivered
— Vishal jotshi (@vishaljotshi) September 18, 2024
Then allow the delivery person inside. Can’t have it both ways. It is not the job of security personnel to bring deliveries.
— Dundee (@dundeeToxc) September 18, 2024
Why can’t you let the delivery person in?

Better hire an additional security and make him part time door delivery guy within the society 😭

This is definitely a debatable topic. Do let us know your two cents on this in the comments section.
