Sohum Shah Revealed All About Tumbbad 2

Talking about the success of Tumbbad and how much the audience appreciated it, Sohum mentioned that the film’s success came slowly. Over time, people truly recognised what he had created, setting high expectations for Crazxy as well. Sohum shared that a parallel cannot be drawn between the two films. While Tumbbad spans over 30 years, Crazxy takes place within just 24 hours, revolving around a man whose daughter gets kidnapped. Tumbbad challenged conventions and offered audiences something unique, whereas Crazy is entirely unpredictable.

Finally, we got him to spill some secrets about Tumbbad 2! He revealed that the writing for the film is complete, and they will likely begin shooting in 2025 or early 2026. Speaking about changing audience preferences in Bollywood films and web series, Sohum expressed his surprise when Tumbbad was first released, given its slow start and low success expectations. However, he was even more shocked when the film performed exceptionally well despite already being available on OTT platforms. This, he believes, signals a shift in what audiences want to see.
