Someone Asked, “Can You Identify This 1920s-era Villa In Bandra?”; Netizens Say “It’s SRK’s Mannat!”

I am sure you must have heard your grandparents say that Mumbai in their time was way different than what it looks like today! All those who have been fortunate enough have also strolled across the city, where their grandparents spoke about how a particular lane, building, or cafe looked back then. Well, a page on X (formerly Twitter) posted a picture featuring a villa in Bandra and asked people to guess it. Netizens promptly said, “It’s SRK’s Mannat!”. 

Identify This 1920s-era Villa In Bandra

A page @MumbaiHeritage posted a picture on X (formerly Twitter). The black-and-white picture featured a villa from the 1920s era in Bandra. The caption asked people to identify this villa in Bandra. 

The villa looked grand and royal from its structure, as per the image. You can also spot a beautiful lawn in front of it. The picture looks so old that one cannot even guess its vicinity. Just then, to help people identify the place better and to give a hint, The same page posted some more pictures. 

These pictures were stills from many Bollywood movies like Tezaab, Angaar, Yes Boss, and one more. All these stills show this Bandra villa in the background or have been shot in this villa.

Earlier Owned By A Parsi Businessman

After this post was put up by @MumbaiHeritage asking citizens to guess it, More than half of the people guessed it to be actor Shah Rukh Khan’s bungalow Mannat in Bandra, Mumbai. 

The post has by far garnered over 139.1K views and over 500 likes on X (formerly Twitter). While people flooded the comments section with “Mannat”. Many also thought of explaining the history behind it. 

One user also posted a picture of SRK’s Mannat, and others mentioned it was in Bandra’s bandstand. Another user said that it was earlier a Vienna house owned by a Parsi businessman, who then sold it to SRK.
