Iraq Welcomes A New Airport

The ambitious vision laid out by the Construction and Housing Ministry encompasses it all. Additionally, the National Investment Commission (NIC) manages it.
Haidar Makiah, the Chairman of NIC, shared the exciting news, highlighting that a comprehensive package of investment projects is in the works for Nineveh. Among the most notable projects is the creation of a brand-new residential city. The development of a civilian airport is also part of this ambitious project. These initiatives hold the promise of directing in a new era of connectivity and transportation.
Makiah emphasized that they would set the new airport project in motion once aviation authorities within the Governorate provide the necessary approvals. Currently, NIC is awaiting the allocation of land for the airport, which will pave the way for a comprehensive feasibility study.

Features Are Not Disclosed Yet
While officials had previously announced plans for the construction of Al-Sahaji International Airport west of Mosul, they did not disclose specifics about the airport project. This marks a significant step forward, considering that Mosul Airport itself suffered severe damage during the conflict seven years ago and is now undergoing its own rebuilding project.
