Singapore Airlines (SIA) is now working towards extending its number of flights to and from major Indian cities. Singapore Airlines To Add More Flights To And From These 3 Indian Cities
Starting from October 29 this year, the SIA Group intends to enhance its services between Singapore and three major Indian cities. The airlines stated that these changes and additional flights are subject to regulatory approval.
SIA clarified that these adjustments are a result of the ongoing review of its network. This is a demonstration of its capacity and adaptability to meet changing customer demands. Achieved by adjusting operations between SIA and Scoot, reported Hindustan Times.
What is Scoot? Scoot is a budget airline based in Singapore and operates as a fully-owned subsidiary of Singapore Airlines. It started operating on 4 June 2012, focusing on medium and long-haul routes from Singapore. And also to various airports across the Asia-Pacific region.

What Can You Expect?
The airline intends to expand its services between Singapore and Chennai, increasing the frequency from 17 to 21 times per week. Scoot will begin daily operations in Chennai after SIA transfers some of its services to the low-cost carrier. This transfer is reported to take place on November 5, 2023, reports Hindustan Times.
Additionally, SIA will gradually increase its weekly service between Singapore and Hyderabad from seven to 12 times weekly. SIA will also take over Scoot’s daily services between the two cities.
As part of this move, SIA will also provide daily morning and evening services to Bengaluru, reports Hindustan Times. According to the reports, the Group’s passenger network encompassed 116 destinations spanning 36 countries and territories.

SIA, the main carrier, served 74 destinations, and Scoot served 65 destinations. The Group anticipates achieving 90% of pre-Covid capacity levels by March 2024, said the reports.
