Ethiopian Airlines To Resume Its Direct Flight To Medina

Ethiopian Airlines, which is also regarded as Africa’s largest airline took to its Twitter account recently to announce that it will be starting direct flights to the holy city of Medina in Saudi Arabia, this August. Yes, the airline will begin its services to the city 1,726 kilometres away, from August 2! It should be noted that it will be serving four weekly, year-round flights for Umrah. Moreover, it is expected that the airline might use 154-seat, 737-800s, which boasts 16 seats in Business Class and 138 in Economy Class. Addis Ababa to Medina – ET442, 11:20 pm – 2:50 am (+1)
Medina to Addis Ababa – ET443, 3:55 am – 7:25 am

This development comes at the perfect time, as the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj and Umra announced on Tuesday, July 11 that the new season for Umra for the citizens and residents of Gulf Cooperation Council countries. If you wish to apply for an Umrah permit, you can do so via the Nusuk website, which helps in obtaining all the necessary permits for performing this pious religious duty. As it happens, it was also announced by the ministry that those who are from outside of the GCC area can perform Umrah after the start of the new Islamic year, according to a report by the Gulf News.

So, if you have also been meaning to perform this religious duty, make sure to book your tickets once the flight begins.
