SpiceJet Tyre Burst While Arriving From Dubai To Kochi; Zero Casualties Reported After Touchdown

The worst fear while traveling can be measured in so many terms. Heavy turbulence, crashes, technical glitches, and more. But a recent incident of a flight reaching Kochi from Dubai was nightmarish. The tire of this SpiceJet airplane crashed while touching down at Kochi International Airport. Luckily no one was hurt. 

Tyre burst Incident On SpiceJet Flight

SpiceJet Boeing 737 flight SG-17 traveling from Dubai International Airport suffered a number 2 tire burst incident. The burst was detected after the plane landed safely at Cochin Airport.  All parameters were displayed normally during the landing.

One of the main factors contributing to flight disruptions has been the aviation industry’s soaring demand during the post-pandemic boom. Additionally, SpiceJet’s financial difficulties over the past four years have made the problem worse.

During takeoff at Mangalore International Airport (MIA) in May 2023, an IndiGo flight with flight number 6E 1467 was claimed to have had a bird strike. The flight was headed for Dubai. In order to ensure their safety, more than 160 people had to disembark the plane.

Soon after taking off from Nepal’s Tribhuvan International Airport in April 2023, a Fly Dubai aircraft carrying more than 150 passengers experienced an engine fire. Fire engines were put on alert while the airplane made an emergency landing attempt at the same airfield. The Fly Dubai flight continued, however, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, indicating that at least one engine was still in service.

It was not immediately possible to determine the precise number of passengers on board the aircraft.

In particular, SpiceJet has been discovered to have the highest number of flight disruptions in the nation. In May, only 61% of the airline’s flights from the nation’s four busiest airports—Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad—departed on time, according to a Bloomberg article. In terms of punctuality, the recently launched Akasa Air is in the top spot.

Flight SG-17 from Dubai (DXB) to Cochin (COK) was operated by a SpiceJet Boeing 737 on July 4. The airline claimed in a statement that the NO 2 tire was discovered to burst during the post-flight walk around.
