Shri Ganganagar recorded a maximum temperature of 49.4°C on June 13, Friday. This has been the season’s highest maximum temperature reported by any station for 2025 in India, as reported by the IMD. However, the temperature comes as no surprise, as heat wave conditions have continued to prevail over West Rajasthan. These conditions were also found at isolated places of East Rajasthan, Haryana, Jammu, Division and Madhya Pradesh. With the mercury reaching 47.6° in Churu of Rajasthan and 46.9° in Jaisalmer, people are already hoping for some respite through monsoons.

When Can You Expect Monsoons?

Yes, monsoons are expected to move towards Northwest India in the coming days. It is expected to arrive between June 19 to 25. In fact, a warning has also been issued for June 14 for several parts of the country. For instance, there is a Red Alert for states like Punjab and Rajasthan, while there is an Orange Alert for states like Haryana, East Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, most of India might expect some sort of thunderstorm, but it is states like Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Southern Karnataka that may experience heavy rainfall. There might even be heavy rainfall in some pockets of Maharashtra and Gujarat as well.

So, with this weather update, you might want to steer clear of stepping out in the extreme temperatures and maintain utmost safety against the unbearable heat.
