When the accident occurred on Sunday, Bengaluru Football Stadium was hosting the final match of the inaugural Chief Minister’s Cup tournament. CV Raman Nagar MLA Constituency was playing the final football game against Shantinagar MLA Constituency and suddenly, a portion of the North stand collapsed at the football stadium.
According to a report by the Deccan Herald, a section of the lower portion of the North stand gallery collapsed. Videos surfacing on social media platforms show how spectators lined up there fell terribly. As seen in the videos, the accident took place during the 35th minute of the final game. The sudden slump of a section of the stand and people led to multiple injuries.

About 10 to 15 spectators present at the accident spot sustained injuries. Ambulances rushed to the venue to rescue injured people to hospitals for treatment. According to a report by The Times of India, one of the hospitals that treated six injured patients discharged them after necessary treatment. A spectator’s finger was fractured due to the collapse.

A huge number of spectators reportedly visited the Bengaluru Football Stadium on Sunday to enjoy the Chief Minister’s Cup final between CV Raman Nagar MLA Constituency and Shantinagar MLA Constituency. There were thousands of football fans at the stadium when the stand collapsed. The Karnataka State Football Association stated that the stand’s portion collapsed as some boys thronged at the ramp.
