What do we look forward to the most in our jobs? Long weekends! As crude as it may sound, nothing beats the excitement of planning a staycation or a trip to a hill station during a long weekend. Ahead of the Independence Day weekend, stand-up comedian Abijit Ganguly has shared a travel tip which Netizens seem to unanimously agree. Check it out!
Abijit Ganguly Says, “Don’t Go Anywhere” For The Long Weekend
Abijit Ganguly took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his travel tip for the long weekend “issued in public interest”. The tip is simple — don’t go anywhere. The comedian explains that any place we’d go during the long weekend we’d be met with jam-packed roads, expensive hotels, crowded sightseeing spots and flights so expensive that we’d need our “father’s property” to fund it.
Here’s a travel tip for the long weekend – DON’T GO ANYWHERE. Everywhere you go around your city will be crowded, commute to there will be jam packed, hotels will be expensive, sights will be crowded, flights toh might even ask for your father’s property.
Rather than that, just…— Abijit Ganguly (@AbijitG) August 14, 2024
Rather, Abijit suggests that it’s best to stay in our own city. The stand-up comedian advises that it’s the best time to roam around one’s own city and explore its offbeat spots. There’s less crowd in one’s own city. Moreover, one can even escape traffic in peak hours as residents would have trickled for vacations elsewhere. He goes on to add that it’s the best time to tick off places from one’s own city. And fall in love with the city we live in. Abijit ends his post with the cheeky, “Issued in public interest.”

Netizens Agree With The Comedian’s “Underrated Tip”
The stand-up comedian’s travel tip seemed to have struck a chord with X users, who unanimously agreed with him. @maddyb65 hilariously tells Abijit that he should have posted this three weeks ago. Why? Because the X user has already booked his tickets for a trip. @AnandGupte14 called it 100 per cent true. Another X user commented that they’ve been following this tip for years now. What’s their long weekend plan? Watch Stree 2.
Absolutely right!
It’s not without a reason that hoards of city dwellers pouring into nearby hill stations on weekends are called ‘weekend crowds’.
Be wise! Don’t be one of them 😄— Partha Sawardekar (@GuideForDubai) August 14, 2024

Another person told Abijit that his tip was a hidden secret and that travelling during the holiday season was never fruitful for him. @yagya_deepak sharing the iconic Main Hoon Na meme said that since his city will be filled with tourists, his plan would entail staying indoors.
