IRCTC Unveiled A New Package For Darjeeling, Gangtok, And Kalimpong
As a Bengali living in West Bengal, I can assuredly say that the next few months are the peak time of the year to explore Darjeeling and Sikkim. Hurry up if you have not booked train/flight/bus tickets already. However, you can seamlessly forget everything about planning an entire trip and choose IRCTC’s new holiday package for Darjeeling, Gangtok, and Kalimpong.
Named ‘Vibrant Sikkim And Darjeeling’, this trip will begin from Kochi on November 19, 2024. Travellers will catch a 7:15 AM flight for Bagdogra. Several essentials such as flight tickets, hotels, travel insurance, breakfasts, dinners, and local transportation facilities are included in this trip.
Here are the details about the package’s costs:
- IRCTC’s Vibrant Sikkim And Darjeeling package starts at ₹55,650 for each traveller selecting triple occupancy.
- The package cost increases to ₹58,200 for each person in double occupancy.
- The most expensive fare is ₹72,250 for each visitor booking in single occupancy.

These Scenic Destinations Are Included In The Itinerary
- The entire first day of the holiday will be spent reaching Kalimpong from Kochi.
- Sightseeing will begin on day 2 with travellers exploring Kalimpong, Golf Course, Durpin Dara Hill, and Pine View Nursery.
- Day 3 will be about travelling to Gangtok’s famous tourist attractions such as Tsomgo Lake and Baba Harbhajan Singh Memorial. Interested tourists can visit Nathula Pass on their own.
- On day 4, they will visit Gangtok’s Enchey Monastery, Ganesh Tok, Hanuman Tok, Tashi View Point, and Flower Exhibition Centre, and then head to Darjeeling.
- Visitors will explore Darjeeling on day 5. They will wake up in the wee hours to catch the sunrise over Mt. Kangchenjunga at Tiger Hill. The itinerary for the rest of the day will include Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, Tenzing Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Centre, Tea Garden, and Japanese Temple.
- The trip will conclude on day 6 with travellers catching a 1 PM flight from Bagdogra airport.
