The service will operate four times a week, offering travellers more convenience and flexibility for their journeys between India and Switzerland. Flights are scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, catering to both business and leisure travel needs.
Air India will deploy Boeing 787 Dreamliners for this route. These state-of-the-art aircraft are known for their fuel efficiency and passenger comfort. Travellers can expect a comfortable journey with a choice of two cabin classes: Economy and Business.
This development strengthens Air India’s presence in Europe. Previously, the airline offered connections to six mainland European cities – Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Milan, Paris, and Vienna. The direct Delhi-Zurich flights will provide a faster and more seamless travel experience for passengers flying between India and Switzerland.

The new route is expected to benefit not just travellers from India and Switzerland, but also those in neighbouring regions. Passengers from southern Germany and western Austria can now connect more easily to Delhi and beyond to Air India’s expanding network, particularly destinations in the Indian Subcontinent, Southeast Asia, and Australia.
This announcement comes after Tata Group’s takeover of Air India in 2022. The new ownership has signalled an intent to revitalise the airline, and the Delhi-Zurich route is a positive step in that direction. By expanding its network and offering modern aircraft, Air India is aiming to become a more competitive player in the global aviation market.
Zurich, a global financial hub and a gateway to stunning Alpine scenery, is a popular destination for Indian travellers. The direct flights will likely boost tourism between the two countries. Passengers flying from Delhi can explore the cultural richness of Zurich, while Swiss travellers can discover the vibrant sights and experiences that India offers.
Overall, Air India’s new Delhi-Zurich service is a welcome development for travellers seeking a convenient and comfortable connection between India and Switzerland. The increased connectivity is expected to benefit not just passengers but also trade and tourism between the two nations.
