If you are someone who owns a house in the city, you are still quite aware of the property rates that are pretty high. However, if someone moves a little further from Mumbai towards the Navi Mumbai area, they are in for some pleasant surprise. Located on the outskirts of the city, the difference between a house in Mumbai as compared to Panvel is ₹32,000.
Rent In Mumbai Vs Panvel
In a recent report by Moneycontrol, it was mentioned that when a person who lives in Panvel ends up saving quite a lot of money as compared to someone living in Mumbai. This is especially true in the case of Kalpana Rai, an interior designer who moved from Mumbai to Panvel in Navi Mumbai. While she owned a three-bedroom house in Mumbai that was spread across 1000 square feet, it cost her a whopping ₹65,000 in rent per month. However, when she moved to Panvel, she now has to pay ₹33,000 for a 1400 ft.² house, which is also a three-bedroom apartment.
Why Do Some People Prefer To Shift To Navi Mumbai?
Despite being on the outskirts of Mumbai, travel time is pretty much the same as the traffic in Mumbai anyway increases the same for a resident within the city. However, living in Mumbai does come with a vibrant social infrastructure while there is no social infrastructure in Panvel. However, living in Panvel does mean that one often gets an apartment for reduced rent and with a slew of amenities like a gymnasium. While for less space in Mumbai, one practically has no facilities even though the rent is double, as compared to what a tenant pays currently in Navi Mumbai.
As a result, many people choose to prefer the outskirts of the city, as it is not only more economical but also offers more breathable space and a better lifestyle for much less monthly costs.
