Department Of Municipality & Transport Announces Penalties
According to the latest laws announced in Abu Dhabi, you can no longer store items or keep them on the building roof and balconies. The reason why this has been done is because it distorts the public appearance. Yes, as revealed in a report by Khaleej Times, authorities have mentioned that they have issued hefty fines for those who leave, store, or place any materials or any other objects on their balconies or roofs. Anything that can distort the general appearance can harm public health.
It’s worth mentioning that these violations are issued in accordance with Law No. 2 of 2012. Yes, these are aimed at ensuring that a sustainable urban environment is created for the residents. Talking about the fines, violators will be liable to pay AED500 for their first violation. However, this will be followed by an AED1,000 penalty for the second time. In case of the third violation and repeated instances, authorities will issue a fine of AED2000.

Other Fines To Know Of!
A part of the recent efforts to improve the appearance of the overall city, Abu Dhabi has also introduced different types of penalties for people who partake in acts that disrupt the overall appearance or pose health risks. Yes, these include a fine of up to AED4,000 for an unlicensed commercial building facade modification.
Not to mention, in case those who leave dirty and abandoned vehicles in public or the vehicle’s body or frame outside will be slapped with a fine of AED4,000. Property owners in Abu Dhabi will also be facing substantial fines of up to AED10,000 for reasons like fencing, enclosing, or covering the properties in such a way that it distorts the public appearance. The list of new penalties includes a fine of AED4,000 for repeated offences, and this is applicable for littering and cigar disposal in the emirate.
So, with these new regulations in place, you might want to store your items elsewhere if you also wish to avoid the hefty fines.
