Storm Isha: Dublin Airport Cancels Over 100 Flights Due To Inclement Weather & Other Updates

The United Kingdom or UK has been witnessing incessant storms lately. The latest is the one that has been named Storm Isha. It has managed to cause significant travel disruptions in the UK as well as in Ireland. From flight cancellations to railway halts, the storm has caused a huge pain in the neck of people who had travel plans. Here are all of the important information that you would need to know about this particular storm.

Storm Isha: Dublin Airport Cancels Over 100 Flights

According to an article which was recently published by livemint, the Dublin Airport has cancelled a total of 102 flights both in and out of the airport. The cancellation was due to the inclement weather predicted for the rest of the day.

The article also specifies that around 24 landings were aborted because of the storm and 27 flights were diverted to other airports. The Met Office has also issued a warning for an unusual blanket wind.

These blanket winds could pose a threat to human lives and can even reach the speed of 145 kilometres per hour or 90 miles per hour. The Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam has also issued an advisory given that it will also bear the brunt of the storm.

Other Important Updates About This Storm You Should Know

In addition to flights being affected in Dublin and Amsterdam, Scotland, too, has had to witness travel disruptions. Railway and train service in Scotland has been significantly impacted by the Storm Isha.

This is the ninth named storm since September in the UK. It has repeatedly been witnessing inclement weather since the end of the last year. In addition to trees, entire power systems have been knocked out because of the storm.
