Student Booked For Touching The Emergency Door Mid-Air On A Chennai-Delhi Flight!

Amid incidents happening on airlines every now and then these days, another one has come to light recently. On a flight from Chennai to Delhi, an engineering student was held liable for touching the emergency door with an intention of opening it. The emergency door of a flight headed for Delhi was allegedly touched by an engineering student, according to a police report released on Monday. The alleged engineering student was reportedly travelling on Saturday from Chennai to Delhi, per the police.

According to the police, the accused touched the emergency gate while flying. When the flight crew noticed this, they stopped him and informed the captain, who made the decision to contact the police about the incident. The accused, however, claimed he only touched the handle of the emergency door and had no intention of opening it. 

The passenger is an engineering student who boarded a flight from Chennai to visit Delhi. While the flight was mid-air, he touched the emergency door. While it is unclear, he could’ve opened the emergency door and hence, it alert the crew. As soon as they noticed, the student was stopped and moved away from the door. Later, a police complaint was filed against him.

Upon being questioned, the accused passenger explained that he only touched the handle of the door. He also added that he had no intention of opening it and breaking protocols.

Legal Action Might Be Taken Against Him

The police were alerted right after the incident and they took action by questioning the accused student. A formal complaint was also filed with the department. The accused has reportedly received a notice that legal action is being taken against him, according to the police. Despite the fact that he has not yet been detained, they stated that he must appear in court.

The incident occurred on Saturday. After the formal complaint was filed, the passenger was let go instead of being kept in custody. He was questioned thoroughly about the complete incident and was ordered to appear in court with respect to the same incident.
