A recent study revealed that half of Indian adults are not doing physical activities regularly.
Study Shows Indian Adult Population’s Lack Of Focus On Daily Physical Activities
A recent study published by the Lancet Global Health revealed alarming information about the Indian adult population, their focus on doing regular physical activities, and concerns related to insufficient practices. It stated that one in two adults living in India failed to meet the suggested physical activity standards. The World Health Organisation (WHO) recommended these levels. Half of our nation’s adults are not following regular exercise, gym, yoga, or other physical activities.
The information stated in the medical journal strikingly shows the major health risks of suffering from cardiovascular diseases. As per experts, people who are inactive when it comes to physical movement possess a higher risk of getting affected by heart attacks, type 2 diabetes, dementia, strokes, breast cancer, and colon cancer.
Considering the global adult population, about 31 per cent of people did not focus on regular exercise. Shockingly, the data revealed that 49.4 per cent of Indian adults did not perform recommended levels of physical activities. Next is Pakistan with 45.7 of such adults, according to a report by Hindustan Times.

It Is High Time We Start Focusing On Our Health Diligently
It looks like the present conditions resemble a do-or-die situation. If Indian adults do not start prioritising their health and continue physical inactivity instead, the proportion of people not meeting the proper standards is expected to rise to 59.9 per cent by 2030. Unfortunately, the percentage of adults not doing proper exercise has jumped by 5 per cent from 2010 to 2022.
Regular activities leave a spectacular impression on our everyday lives. Not only looking fit but these practices improve our health in so many significant ways. From enjoying a better quality of life to getting long-term advantages, there is no replacement for exercise.
