Sufi Motiwala Calls Delhi A Thief! Here’s Why

We met Sufi Motiwala on our latest episode of Tere Gully Mein, where we explored Ghatkopar Khaugalli, tried and reviewed some weird food combos, discussed his fashion judgments, and more. Watching Sufi’s fashion critique reels on Instagram is pure entertainment, as he shares his opinions boldly and honestly, with no sugarcoating and zero filters. Although he’s from Surat, he has spent some time living in Delhi, and he calls Delhi a ‘thief.’ Read on to find out why!

What Sufi Motiwala Has To Say About Delhi

While debating about the all-time favourite topic on where to find the best momos, everyone knows Delhi always claims to serve the best in the country. Sufi Motiwala said hilariously, “Delhi maine realise kiya hai ki wo chor hai pehle toh. Delhi North East ki saari chize chori kar raha hai.” He believes that every piece of street-style clothes you find in Sarojini Nagar comes from the Northeast. According to him, momos aren’t the only thing they borrowed; even the famous Majnu Ka Tila is inspired by the Seven Sisters. “They all promote it like it’s Delhi’s culture, this and that. But Delhi’s culture is not like that. Delhi’s actual culture is Mughal-focused,” he said.

But it’s not just momos; Delhi even claims to have the best vada pav. But can any place beat Mumbai ka vada pav? Of course not. Sufi believes Delhi has the worst vada pav in the world. He said, “I have tried vada pavs everywhere in Delhi, and Delhi walon ko bread banana hi nahi aata hai. Aur unka jo pav hai, wo pav hi acha nahi hai.” Sufi Motiwala didn’t even spare Delhi when it came to ratings and reviews.

He Rated Monacan & Kurkure Momos

Sufi Motiwala is known for rating not just quirky outfits of celebrities, but in this episode, he rated some equally quirky food combinations. Out of all the options, including a paan milkshake and a breadless sandwich, he ended up liking two dishes from the Khaugalli. Taking just one bite of the Monacan, Sufi was able to identify all the ingredients. He said, “It has corn, onion, tomatoes, mayo, ketchup, a little bit of mustard, cheese, coriander, and Monaco.” Next, we tried the Kurkure momos, crunchy on the outside with rich vegetable filling inside.

Sufi Motiwala had tried Kurkure momos in Delhi as well, and he found them average, saying, “Imagine if popcorn chicken was made with wheat.” He didn’t enjoy the Kurkure momos in Mumbai either, comparing them to McCain potato bites. Among all the dishes, his favourite was the Monacan, which he rated 8/10.

He even spilt some spicy details about the recent show Traitors, and to get all the tea, watch the full episode on the Curly Tales YouTube channel.
