Sufi Motiwala, known for his quirky style of reviewing celebrity outfits on the Internet, joined Curly Tales to explore Ghatkopar Khaugalli on a recent episode of Tere Gully Mein. He was amazed by the unique street food combinations there, including the Breadless Sandwich, Paan Milkshake, Kurkure Momos, Monacan, and more. Sufi’s taste in food is as particular as his fashion choices. He barely liked any of the unusual food combos in Mumbai, so we asked him what he thinks about the street food scene in Delhi. Here’s what he has to say.
Sufi Motiwala’s Take On Delhi’s Street Food
Sufi moved to Mumbai two years ago after completing his graduation in Fashion Communication in Delhi. When we asked him if he missed Delhi’s street food, it turns out he didn’t miss it at all. He said, ”In the Northern side, waha balance nahi hota hai khane mein.” Sufi’s taste in food is deeply rooted in the cuisines of Gujarat and Mangalore. He believes that if something is spicy, it is unbearably spicy, and if it is sweet, it is excessively sweet. “Matlab bohot extreme hai, just like all Delhi people, it’s very extreme,” he added.
Sufi also calls Delhi a “chor” for copying every concept and idea from the Northeast India. According to him, Delhi lacks a distinct culture of its own. From momos in Delhi to the street-style clothes found in Sarojini Nagar, it’s all inspired by the Northeast. He also doesn’t like the fact that Delhi claims to serve the best momos and vada pav in the country. In his opinion, Delhi doesn’t even know how to make proper bread (pav) and went on to roast the city’s food scene just like he roasts people’s fashion sense.

For Him, ‘A Big No’ In Fashion Is…
While trying some of the weird food combinations, we asked him if there is any fashion outfit that he found absolutely disgusting. He shared a few things from the world of fashion that are a big no-no for him. For him, corsets and anything made from plastic, like plastic slippers, plastic heels, or any plastic-based clothing, are definite turn-offs.
Sufi’s approach is refreshingly original when it comes to fashion. He even shared his experience working with Karan Johar in Traitors. To know all about it, watch the full episode.
