On March 3, UAE astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi began his six-month mission on the International Space Station, which he reached via the Falcon 9 Rocket from the Kennedy Space Centre, Florida. And the longest Arab space mission commenced with this! Not only has this been a proud moment for the entire region, but recently a short video tweeted by the astronaut has left everyone awestruck! Sultan Al Neyadi Shares Video Of Earth
Sultan Al Neyadi has been constantly updating his Twitter with updates from space. And this morning, he shared a mesmerising video from the space centre. The tweet shared by him shows an awe-inspiring view of the earth from the space centre. Shot from the Cupola of the ISS, the video is in both Arabic and English, wherein Sultan Al Neyadi is proudly showcasing the beautiful view of the planet earth. He mentions that the space centre is over Africa at the time of the video being shot and he also shows the arm, the SRMS (Shuttle Remote Manipulator System).
More Updates From The Mission
Before this, on March 8, he also shared an equally beautiful selfie from the space centre, wherein a stunning picture of the earth can be seen in the backdrop. As it happens, he also conversed with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai. During his conversation, he talked about all the impending scientific experiments and the acclimatisation in the International Space Centre. At this point, it’s worth mentioning that he will spend six months and conduct more than 200 experiments.
For this mission, Sultan Al Neyadi and his crew entered the space centre through its Dragon Capsule, which opened at 12:40 pm GST. With this, he became the second Emirati in space and also the second Arab to be on the orbiting science laboratory!
