The structure is situated in the centre of the soon-to-be business sector known as Diamond Research and Mercantile City. Its 35.54 acres of land are divided into 660,000 square feet of built-up area. The bourse is made up of nine 15-story towers that are connected. With sizes ranging from 300 to 7,500 square feet, it can house 4,200 workplaces.

A vast central corridor spanning 22 kilometres connects the nine buildings, providing access to amenities and services similar to an airport terminal. In between the nine buildings are nine Panchtattva courts, designed as green areas for leisure.

In addition to having two levels of subterranean parking that can hold 4,500 cars and 10,000 two-wheelers, the building has 131 lifts. A chilled water cooling system provides central air conditioning to every office. Along with security plans, the building offers services like restaurants, banks, retail stores, conference rooms, and multipurpose halls.

There are also five-star hotels, an international conference centre, a National Diamond Research Institute (NDRI), specialised customs clearing houses for the import and sale of diamonds, and international education facilities. The complex, which is known as the largest corporate building in the world, is a pre-certified green building by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) due to the eco-friendly and sustainable measures it has taken to run its operations.

Professionals, Traders, Jewellery Mall & More!

In addition to cutters, polishers, and traders, the complex will serve as a one-stop shop for over 65,000 diamond professionals. 4,200 traders from 175 nations can live in the building; they will visit the complex to purchase polished gems.

The first “diamond jewellery mall” in the world is located within the complex. Leading global brands that specialise in selling diamond jewellery will be present. The SDB will house 27 showrooms for diamond jewellery as part of the mall to accommodate the brands. The SDB Administrative Committee will hold an auction for the showrooms.

The largest customs clearing centre in India is located in this building. Eleven personnel, including inspectors and a superintendent of customs, will work there. The SDB diamond bourse committee will cover all of their salaries for the first three years. Numerous amenities are available at the customs office, such as a waiting space, two safe deposit vaults, a postal department room, a custom officers’ cabin, an officer cabin, a valuer room, and a conference room.

It has one of the biggest radiant cooling systems in the world. Low external heat gains and lower cooling loads are caused by a combination of thermal mass and porosity in pertinent locations. Energy-efficient mechanical cooling and passive techniques for natural ventilation are combined in hybrid climate systems.
