According to multiple reports making rounds on the Internet, the Qantas flight QF520 experienced a terrible incident a short while after taking off from the airport on Friday. Suddenly, passengers heard a loud noise. The horrifying sound came from one of the flight’s engines. Right after the uproaring bang, they felt a tremor.
According to a report by India TV News, a journalist from ABC’s team was a passenger on this plane. Journalist Mark Willacy shared about the loud bang being followed by a sharp shudder. He also added that passengers realised that something occurred to one of the engines of that Qantas Airways flight.
The aircraft departed at 12:35 PM from Sydney. The airline stated that the plane flew for some time, diverted, and then headed back to its origin, Sydney Airport. With people on the flight, it made a safe landing. The Qantas Airways flight that suffered the engine failure was a Boeing 737-800. According to a report by Flightradar24, it is a 19-year-old aircraft powered by CFM International’s engines.

The Australian Airline Shared Information About The Incident
Qantas Airways stated its teams of engineers already started to look into the matter. They directed a preliminary investigation and came to the conclusion that the flight suffered a contained engine failure. But what does a contained engine failure mean? It has been made in a way to keep the parts protected and safe.
