If you are planning to head to Wankhede Stadium, make sure you keep traffic advisories in mind to avoid getting stuck. For the match, the Mumbai Metro Aqua Line has extended its services. Here’s everything you need to know.

Mumbai Metro Line 3 Extends Services For T20 World Cup Semi-Final

Cricket fans in Mumbai, if you are heading for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 semi-final at Wankhede Stadium, plan your journey in advance. Roads in the city are expected to witness heavy traffic in the evening. You should know that Mumbai Metro Line 3, also known as the Aqua Line, has decided to extend services on March 5 to ensure easy commuting for thousands of fans heading to the stadium.

The match will begin at 7 pm at the iconic stadium located near Churchgate and Marine Drive. According to Mid-Day, Mumbai Metro Line 3 will operate additional trains on both up and down lines throughout the day and into the late evening. The B2 entry-exit gate is the nearest access point to the stadium.

Mumbai Traffic Police Issues Traffic Advisory

Since heavy traffic is expected, authorities have urged commuters and cricket fans to plan their journeys in advance. Keep a check on real-time metro updates via official apps and social media. It is also advised to arrive early, as stadium gates will open at 4 pm. According to The Times of India, the Mumbai Traffic Police has issued a detailed traffic advisory ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026 semi-final between India and England.

Heavy congestion is expected in and around Marine Drive, Churchgate, Marine Lines and adjoining roads in South Mumbai during the evening. Commuters have been advised to use alternative routes to avoid inconvenience. Authorities have also suggested using public transport like the Mumbai Metro instead of personal cars for a smoother experience. As per The Times of India, the Mumbai Traffic Police has also issued a gate-wise travel advisory for fans:

  • Gates 1, 2 & 7: Use Churchgate Railway Station or Churchgate Metro Station and proceed via E Road.
  • Gates 3 & 4: Use Marine Lines Railway Station and enter the stadium through the FOB near Roopkala Showroom.
  • Gates 5 & 6: Use Churchgate Metro Station and take the FOB on Maharshi Karve Road opposite the Income Tax Office.
