Tahira Kashyap Shares What She Made For Her First Rasoi Post-Wedding

The talented and beautiful Tahira Kashyap invited Kamiya Jani, our Editor-in-Chief, to her stunning Andheri home for a hearty Sunday Brunch feast. It was filled with lovely home-cooked Punjabi food, loads of laughter, fun-filled conversations and a few trip down memory lane. On this episode of Sunday Brunch, Tahira shared the first meal she prepared after being married to her long-time boyfriend and now husband, Ayushmann Khurrana. Read on to find out all about it.

Tahira Kashyap And Kamiya Jani Enjoyed Home-Made Kada Prasad

We were in a food coma after catching up with Tahira and relishing a flavourful Punjabi meal. There was kali dal, lachcha paratha, butter chicken, raita, kofte, and more! The homecooked food was so comforting and delectable that we needed to take a quick nap after concluding our interview session.

Little did we know that there was a lip-smacking dessert waiting for us! We were overjoyed at the sight of a warm bowl of authentic Kada Prasad, even though we were full to the brim. Tahira’s home chef had whipped up an awesome Kada Prasad with loads of ghee. A spoonful of it was enough to satisfy our souls!

Tahira Kashyap married Ayushmann Khurrana in 2008 and recently celebrated their 16th marriage anniversary. Kamiya wanted to know if Tahira made this tasty sweet dish for her pehli rasoi. It is a traditional Hindu wedding ritual where the bride has to cook something for the first time at her husband’s home.  

The film director, writer and producer chuckled and revealed how her mother-in-law had instructed her. “Beta, bas karchi maar do (Kada Prasad ke liye); banao ge toh kya hi,” was what her MIL had quipped! This comment left Kamiya and our guest in splits. 

Tahira shared that she can never don a chef’s hat, ever! Hence, she made Kada Prasad with the help of her MIL for her first rasoi after marriage. This is a fun anecdote; we are sure it was a memorable one as well!
