Taiwan has quite a history of earthquakes. It frequently grapples with tremors and has witnessed stronger earthquakes as well. Recently, one of the regions of the country was shaken by yet another earthquake. However, fortunately, this earthquake did not end up causing any kind of damage and did not claim any lives or injure people. Here are all of the other important details that you would need to know about this particular earthquake.
Taiwan Rocked By An Earthquake Of 5.3 Magnitudes
According to an article which was recently published by The Times Of India or TOI, this particular earthquake took place near Taipei. It clocked in at 5.3 magnitudes on the Richter scale. The epicentre of the earthquake was in Hualien County which is located on the east coast of Taiwan, not very far from the capital of Taiwan.
As per the weather administration of the region, no immediate reports of damage or loss of lives were reported after the earthquake. This particular earthquake happened at a depth of 17 kilometres or 10.6 miles. What is more, tremors were also felt in Taipei. If reports are to go by, many buildings in the Taiwanese capital shook owing to the impact of the quakes.
This is not the first time that the region of Hualien has witnessed an earthquake. As a matter of fact, mere months ago, the region witnessed the largest earthquake in at least 25 years. That earthquake claimed the lives of nine people and caused more than 900 injuries.

No Immediate Damage To Property Or Loss Of Lives
Thankfully, though, no loss of life or damage to property has occurred owing to this earthquake. Taiwan has frequently struggled with earthquakes and this is the latest one. This is because the country is perched right at the edge of the convergence of two tectonic plates which results in a lot of geological turmoil.
