Taj Mahal, New Delhi, has introduced a meaningful and innovative initiative by launching Braille menus across all its acclaimed restaurants. By implementing Braille menus, Taj Mahal, New Delhi, ensures that visually impaired guests have the freedom to independently explore the culinary offerings.

The Braille menu initiative was unveiled in a memorable launch event at Varq, Taj’s award-winning gourmet Indian restaurant. The renowned artist and Padma Shri awardee, Mrs. Anjolie Ela Menon, attended as the guest of honour, along with visually impaired women from the National Association for the Blind (NAB) India’s Centre for Blind Women and Disability Studies.

Together, they shared a powerful moment, blending art and accessibility. Some of the guests even painted on canvas with Mrs. Menon. It symbolised the creativity and inclusivity that Taj aspires to bring to its dining experience.

Dr. Anmol Ahluwalia, Area Director of Operations and General Manager at Taj Mahal, New Delhi, emphasised the brand’s dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Taj’s introduction of Braille menus represents a conscious step towards redefining what a luxurious dining experience entails. This step will ensure that every guest, regardless of their physical capabilities, feels respected, valued, and included.

This Braille menu initiative isn’t Taj’s first step toward accessibility. Earlier in the year, the hotel collaborated with the NAB India Centre for Blind Women and Disability Studies to open the Blind Bakes Café. It is also an inspiring project that empowers visually impaired women with skills in culinary arts and housekeeping.

Together with the Braille menus, these initiatives highlight Taj’s commitment to creating an inclusive environment. The hospitality experience here will now combine luxury with heartfelt social responsibility.

By taking these thoughtful steps, the Taj Mahal, New Delhi, is raising the bar for accessible dining. The Braille menus mark a beautiful move towards inclusivity.
