Takis & Korean Ramen Have 2 Times More Sodium Than Maggi: Food Pharmer

Korean Ramen is among the most widely consumed products in the world. Recipes abound on the Internet that tell you the plethora of ways in which you can customise your ramen and add your own toppings for a unique flavour profile. Such recipes have added to the growth of ramen consumption. Revant Himatsingka, who goes by the moniker Food Pharmer, recently shared a video in which he revealed how dangerous these junk food items really are.

Korean Ramen And Takis Have Two Times More Sodium Than Maggi

A while back, Maggi made headlines for having high sodium content and other ingredients harmful to health. It even incited a brief ban on the product. Many were avoiding it like a plague. Revant Himatsingka, popularly known as Food Pharmer, recently revealed that Maggi is not the only product to worry about.

Speaking about the growing popularity of foreign brands like Takis Fuego and Korean Ramen of various Korean ramen, he highlighted how dangerous they are. In the post made on X (formerly known as Twitter), he said that adult humans only need around 1,500 to 2,000 mg of ramen in a day.

One pack of Maggi contains around 719 mg of ramen. But increasingly popular brands like Takis, Korean Noodles and Super Spicy Korean Noodles contained 1,470 mg, 1,800 mg and 1,560 mg each respectively.

Food Pharmer Reveals Why Sodium’s So Bad For Your Health?

Sodium can be extremely harmful when taken in excess. It can cause obesity, high blood pressure and many heart issues. A while back, Denmark made headlines when it banned a popular brand of spicy noodles as it was considered to cause acute poisoning.

In the post, Food Pharmer mentioned that many foreign food companies sell subpar items in India as the regulations are quite weak in the country. He even mentioned a couple of Indian brands that are not as high in sodium which are safe to consume once in a while.
