The Konkan Café at Vivanta by Taj-President is holding a lavish feast on 3rd and 4th September 2017 to pay tribute to Onam
Traditionally, the Onam Sadhya was a celebration of the Harvest Festival. Years later, the tradition continues and we couldn’t be more delighted. I’m a huge fan of Keralite food and to me, no authentic South Indian meal is complete if it’s not served on a banana leaf. What Is It?
For those not invited by a Keralite friend to their home for Onam, I suggest you head to The Konkan Café at Vivanta by Taj-President. We don’t promise you home-food feel but it’s about as authentic as it gets. We went for a trial meal and while it didn’t have all the 26 dishes that will be served on the 3rd and 4th – we did get a sizable serving and boy, was it absolutely delicious!
The butter milk was perfectly spiced, the avial was wonderful and the payassam was to die for! We could barely finish it all but that didn’t stop us from trying!
The heart of Kerala and a true Keralite lies in a well-cooked Onam Sadhya and that’s what The Konkan Cafe is trying to replicate.
