The Telangana Food Safety Department continues to conduct raids at restaurants and shops state-wide. From finding issues to discarding unsuitable products, the officials take necessary action against all offenders. Recently, a task force team raided a food establishment in Telangana’s Medak district and here’s all you need to know about this inspection.
State Level Task Force Team Investigated A Food Establishment In Medak District
Taking to the X platform, the Commissioner of Food Safety, Telangana (@cfs_telangana) shared necessary information about the recent inspection.
The State Level Task Force team investigated an establishment in the Medak district. The team of officials headed to M/s Sunny Foods in Manoharabad’s Kallakal. Upon inspection, they discovered that the place did not carry a valid FSSAI licence.
The department also discovered that this place conducted product name manipulation. They followed this unexpected practice with attractive irrelevant pictorials and names. Taking this bizarre and risky step, M/s Sunny Foods violated the labelling guidelines of FSSAI.
The State Level Task Force team found expired food additives stored at this shop. The cooks working here used expired tomato masala and Maggi Masala to prepare quick and ready-to-eat savoury treats. While inspecting the establishment, the officials came across a hefty storage of snacks. They seized and discarded chips, namkeen, and coloured saunf worth ₹2.13 lakh.
The Department Raided This Restaurant Last Month
On November 26, the Telangana Food Safety Department shared information about investigating Bademiyan Kababs in Lakdikapul. The officials found cobwebs inside the kitchen premises. There were food articles stored inside a fridge without any proper labelling. The FBO could not provide medical fitness certificates, pest control records, and water analysis reports. Also, FBO did not present the food licence’s copy at the restaurant.
The food safety department suspected Bademiyan Kababs of using synthetic food colours in kababs and Chinese food served in the eatery. They discarded these colours. No food handlers were wearing hair caps and gloves. In addition, there were no proper insect proof screens to avoid the entry of dust and pests. And premises were exposed to the outside environment.
