Telangana Food Safety Department Finds Open Dustbins, Sweets Without Proper Labelling & More At Shops In West Marredpally

The Telangana Food Safety Department raided a total of 3 local stores in West Marredpally. The department’s team headed to Ratnadeep Retail Private Limited, Olive Mithai Shop, and G B Pan Palace and here’s everything they found.

Telangana Food Safety Department Raided 3 Shops In West Marredpally

Telangana Food Safety Department’s task force team inspected 3 shops in the West Marredpally locality in Secunderabad on September 18, 2024. The Commissioner of Food Safety, Telangana, took to the X platform to share all the important updates about the raids at these places.

The team of officials headed to the Ratnadeep Retail Private Limited for investigation. They found that the staff did not store frozen packed food items such as Heritage Mozzarella Cheese, McCain Potato bites, and more according to the FIFO Method. There were packets of blueberries without proper mentions of FSSAI license number, logo, importer address, packing dates, and use-by dates.

The FSSAI Registration Certificate of sweet items supplied by Kotamamba Food Products was inactive. The team did not find the FSSAI License true copy showcased at the prominent location. Also, there were no Medical Fitness Certificates for food handlers and trained staff. They found well-maintained pest control records.

The task force team inspected the Olive Mithai Shop. Packed food items for customers such as Chakodi, Mixture, and Namkeen were not labelled with FSSAI license number, logo and manufacturer details. Some sweet packets were packed without following labelling regulations. In addition, the Medical Fitness Certificates for food handlers and Pest Control Records for the premises were not available.

The FSSAI License true copy was present at the billing counter. Food handlers wore haircaps and uniforms.

The Task Force Team Raided G B Pan Palace

Telangana Food Safety Department’s team inspected the G B Pan Palace in West Marredpally. They came across an open dustbin without a proper lid. The food handler’s Medical Fitness Certificate was not present at the shop. According to the Commissioner of Food Safety, Telangana, the FBO did not own a valid FSSAI license or registration to run his business.

The officials doubted him for mixing some tobacco products in pan masala and hence, seized them. The food handler was not wearing an apron, gloves, or hair cap.
