Telangana Food Safety Department regularly conducts inspections at restaurants and eateries and takes necessary actions, if needed. This time, an officer headed to a tiffin centre and a supermarket in the state for raids and found unhygienic conditions, stale food items, and more. Letโ€™s take a look at the recent investigation and everything discovered in the process.

Food Safety Officer Raided Sri Laxmi Narasimha Swamy Tiffin Centre

According to the X post by the Commissioner of Food Safety, Telangana, the department received a complaint on the FoSCoS app concerning Sri Laxmi Narasimha Swamy Tiffin Centre in Secunderabadโ€™s Rampally. A Food Safety Officer headed to the place, raided the premises, and found several violations of not following guidelines according to the FSSAI Act.

The officer discovered that staff at this tiffin centre kept food items exposed to the roadside. The kitchen was found in a dirty condition and uncovered. Though Sri Laxmi Narasimha Swamy Tiffin Centre uses RO Water on the premises, staff could not show the water analysis report.

Food handlers at the centre were seen wearing untidy clothes. Also, they did not have medical fitness certificates. Telangana Food Safety Department will issue a notice to this tiffin centre in Secunderabadโ€™s Rampally and take necessary actions.

Next, The Telangana Food Safety Department Inspected A Supermarket

A raid was conducted at Ratnadeep Supermarket in Boduppalโ€™s Aakruthi Township recently. The food safety officer went to the market after receiving a complaint on the FoSCoS app. While checking out the premises, the officer saw spoiled onions stocked up for selling to customers.

The specific place on the premises did not have any FSSAI licence copy. Also, there were no medical fitness certificates for food handlers. In addition to all these violations, there was no FoSTaC-trained supervisor at the supermarket premises.

According to Telanganaโ€™s Commissioner of Food Safety, โ€œNotice will be issued to the premises and further action shall be taken.โ€

Supermarkets, tiffin centres, restaurants, and similar places must abide by the FSSAI guidelines, maintain hygiene, and ensure providing safe food items to all customers. Unfortunately, not everyone follows these rules.
