Anushka Sen

Whether it was facing her wildest fears in Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi or leaving a mark with her amazing acting skills in Jhansi Ki Rani, Anushka Sen has ruled the small screen in India for years. So, in the recent episode of Tere Gully Mein, we took Anushka Sen on a fusion-filled adventure in Mumbai’s Kandivali and here’s how it went down.

Anushka Sen Talks About Her Journey & Korean Experience

Most of us remember Anushka Sen as the child actor who left us all in awe with her talent in Jhansi Ki Rani. At the age of 22, she already has an experience of over 15 years in the acting industry! And she has not just impressed Indians with her talent but also people in South Korea. In 2023, she was appointed as the Honorary Ambassador of Korean Tourism while she was shooting for her first Korean film there.

Being a Bengali at heart, Anushka Sen shared that some of her favourite Bengali dishes are shorshe mach and aloo posto. And of course, during Durga Puja, she makes sure to check out all the pandals to enjoy the delicious food and soak in the festive vibe. As for her favourite Mumbai street food, she loves pav bhaji.

While she was born in Ranchi and has spent a major part of her life in Mumbai, Anushka Sen calls South Korea her second home! She shared that despite language barriers and an altogether different culture, she was welcomed warmly to Korea by the people. She added that she has made a family of her own there and has an aunt, uncle and a bunch of friends there who made the country feel like a second home to her!

Before we started our fusion adventure, Anushka Sen was quite apprehensive to try some of the dishes we had in mind, nevertheless, she tried them all. We started our fusion food trail at the legendary ‘Yummy Dosa’ and tried their Gochujang Dosa. Not so surprisingly, Anunshka loved the marriage of South Indian and South Korean flavours in the dish!

Next, we tried some hot and spicy Korean Ramen at DFC Korean Point, which just hit the right spot for Anunshka! Of course, no meal is ever complete without some desserts and we headed to HighCha for some sweet crushed iced bingsus.
