In this episode of Tere Gully Mein, one of India’s top YouTubers, Purav Jha, took us through the popular hotspots of Paschim Vihar. The content king, known for his mimicry skills and his ability to flawlessly portray a variety of characters, opened up about his life. From his favourite characters to the mischievous tales from his school days, he shared it all. Over a delightful meal, we played a few fun games, learned about his favourite Bihari dish, discovered which characters he loves to mimic the most, and got a glimpse into the person behind the screen. Here’s how it all went down.
Purav Jha’s Journey Into The World Of Content Creation
Be it Dolly Chai Wala, the Vada Pav Girl, Dhruv Rathee, or IShowSpeed, Purav has mastered the body language of every character, something even AI can’t do. He began his journey under the guidance of Harsh Beniwal, and since then, Purav has carved his own path on YouTube with originality. He experimented with gaming, vlogs, and short films, but none of them clicked. What truly kicked off his career is something we are all aware of—mimicry! Over a plate of delicious spring rolls at Little Chef in Paschim Vihar, Purav Jha shared how his family reacted to his videos. In one of them, he was dressed as a girl, and his father was amazed. He even called it a ‘launda dance,’ a term popular in their hometown in Bihar.
He Got Rusticated From His School
This Bihari guy was quite a notorious kid during his childhood, and he shared a wild story from his ‘Bachpan Ke School Ka Kaand’. The incident was so extreme that it even involved the police. They wore handkerchiefs as masks, made a child sit on their knee, and slid a bottle and scale across his neck, just for fun. Someone recorded the scene, and the video went viral on Facebook, which led to Purav’s suspension from the school. Crazy, right?
Purav Jha then took us to the next spot, Giani’s, where we enjoyed some delicious ice cream and played a fun game. In the game, Purav had to describe the people he’s worked with in just one word. Any guesses who came up? Bhuvan Bam, Ashish Chanchlani, Samay Raina, and many other stand-up comedians. He even did his signature hook step with us to his favourite Bhojpuri song!

Characters That Purav Jha Loves To Mimic!
For lunch, Purav took us to a new spot, Sandoz Restaurant, where he opened up about how challenging it can sometimes be to take on a role and the struggles that come with it. But do you know which character is one of his favourites to mimic? It’s Dolly Chai Wala! And according to him, the toughest character to portray is IShowSpeed.
We also discovered that Purav is a complete foodie, and he even knows how to cook! For him, pyaaz, green chutney, and papad are a must with every dish. While enjoying the delicious North Indian food, we played some exciting and engaging games with him. Some of the games were Mimicking Content Creators Round, Never Have I Ever, and more. During Never Have I Ever, he revealed that he has several fake accounts and even shared the names of a few!
Next time, hopefully, the Curly Tales episode with Purav Jha will be shot at his home, because this content king is ready to show off his cooking skills and plans to make us Litti Chokha and Champaran Meat.
