The Great Khali, warrior of the WWE ring, met Curly Tales on the episode of Tere Gully Mein. Khali isn’t just a wrestling superstar; he’s also a big foodie, and we sat down with the legend himself at his very own ‘The Great Khali Dhaba’ in Haryana. We’ve all seen him in the world of wrestling, but in this episode, we’re going to take a closer look at his personal life. In this episode, Khali opens up about his childhood, how he began his wrestling career, and even plays a hilarious food fight with us that brings out his fun side. Here’s how it all went down.
Food Fight With The Great Khali
Wherever Curly Tales goes, food is always a must, so we kicked off this episode by challenging Khali to a fun food challenge! We went head-to-head to see who could finish the massive ‘The Great Khali Thali’ first. The thali was loaded with five kinds of vegetables, rice, vegetarian biryani, curd, sweets, a lot of naans (breads), and even The Great Khali Salad. Finishing off this massive thali within 10 minutes was no easy task, but surprisingly, Curly Tales managed to beat Khali at this food challenge.
Khali was impressed after seeing this, to which he said, “Pehli baar kisi ladki ne mere samne itna sara khana khaya hai.” When asked who he would choose for this thali challenge between The Undertaker and John Cena, Khali picked The Undertaker, as, according to him, he eats the most and would be the perfect competitor for such a massive thali competition.
Khali Opened Up About His Early Life
We asked him how his journey of becoming ‘The Great Khali’ began, and since his real name is Dalip Singh Rana, we were curious to know how he got the name that made him a global legend in wrestling. He replied, “Dekho, stage name toh sabka hota hai, jaise UnderTaker hai, Triple Edge hai, waise hi ek mera bhi naam hai.” The conversation then took a turn to his childhood days and how he entered the world of wrestling. Khali shared that since childhood, he was calm by nature and very serious. He added, “Bachpan me dream tha police afsar banne ka, or police afsar bane bhi, lekin fir baad me hum wrestling me aagaye.”
When Khali decided to switch his career, he shared how his family reacted. He said, “Ghar walo ne bola tha ki aap job karo, badi mushkil se job lagi hai or ye wrestling ke chakkar me mat pado.” Even when he was doing great in his wrestling career, his family feared his violent fights and asked him to quit wrestling and come back home.

Who Are His Great Wrestling Buddies
Behind the violent fights that we often see, Khali shared that his fellow wrestlers are his great friends. When asked the name of his good friends, he replied, ‘’John Cena mera bada acha dost raha, Jai Fody, or bhi bohot hai.’’ He even dedicated a few songs to his fellow wrestlers, and carefully picked the best ones to match each of them perfectly.
Khali took us on a tour of his academy, dhaba, and gym and shared insights about how to get started in this field. To learn all about his journey and life, watch the full episode on the Curly Tales YouTube channel.
