Tesla Robot Serves Popcorn In Viral Video; Elon Musk Says, “This Will Become Normal In Few Years”

Giving humans a helping hand in their daily chores, restaurant visits, and more are robots! With robots doubling down as quick vacuum cleaners and futuristic-themed restaurant staff, the future is here and how! Don’t be surprised if you walk into a multiplex, only to have your buttered popcorn meticulously poured and served by a humanoid robot. It’s not us, but Elon Musk who’s made the prediction!

Tesla’s Optimus Robot Seen Serving Popcorn

Billionaire Elon Musk recently reposted a video on X on what seems to be the future of movie theatres. The video originally posted by DogeDesigner shows a Tesla Optimus robot wearing the hat of a popcorn server. In the video, the Optimus robot is seen holding a paper packet and taking it towards the heated display case.

With the packet in one hand, the robot’s hand leans forward to take two precise pours of buttery popcorn. It adds the scooped popcorn into the packet and walks towards the customer waiting at the counter. The humanoid robot politely hands over the popcorn packet to the person. He doles out a thumb-up and waves goodbye to the customer. What’s interesting to see is that the robot nonchalantly carried out its duty. Perhaps, a little slower than human speed. ‘

But not a popcorn was spilled. No mess, no dirt, just tech-forward precision. The customer looked at the machine with fascination, only to be politely greeted and bid goodbye. While sharing this video, Elon Musk commented that robots serving popcorn at movie theatres would become normal in a few years.

Elon Musk Shares It Will Be The New Normal Soon; Netizens React

To get more insights into the highly fascinating video, a user asked Grok where was this incident happening. Grok replied that a Tesla Optimus robot was serving popcorn during the inauguration of the Tesla Diner and Supercharger station at 7001W. The exact location was at Santa Monica Boulevard, Hollywood, Los Angeles.

While this video garnered a lot of attention, Netizens weren’t very pleased. They pointed out the potential unemployment issues that could plague the world if robots were put to task. Others questioned the need for robots to carry out easy tasks. Rather, robots are needed high-risk jobs like mining, argued another. “Why make such a complicated and expensive robot to displace popcorn?” asked another person.
