The super-clogged highway of Dubai witnessed thousands of bicycles covering the roads. The 3rd edition of Dubai Ride made Sheikh Zayed Road replace the car traffic with bicycles. Bikes raced down Sheikh Zayed Road, a 10-lane concrete jungle. The annual Dubai Ride is one of the most anticipated events for Emiratis and the thousands of participants prove this fact. Dubai witnessed individuals of all ages participating in this event.

The ride included riding across the iconic structures of Dubai like the Museum of Future, Burj Khalifa and Coca-Cola Arena. The span of this ride was 30 mins. Individuals from the young age of 3 to older citizens participated in this event.

The event started with the break of dawn as participants started gathering at the start point around 4:30 am. Bicyclists cheered as they sped along the roadway posing for snaps. The atmosphere was cheerful as participants bolted to music to enjoy the ride. Few kept themselves and others entertained by singing in a herd.

35,000 People Participated In This Annual Dubai Ride

The event was scheduled to start around 5 am to finish by 7:45 am. Roads were kept clear in order to control cyclist safety. However, the RTA road closures were in effect from 4 a.m. on Sunday, November 6, until 9 a.m.

RTA carefully made other provisions to shift the traffic usually jammed at the Sheikh Zayed road to different routes. The free event witnessed thousands of participants. Even though the event is free prior registration is mandatory for participation in this annual event.

The Dubai Ride witnessed everyone from cycling aficionados to newbies participating this year.
