The first weekend at The Lil Flea may be over but there is more fun coming up this weekend. In its third edition, it’s bigger and better! We tell you why you shouldn’t miss it?
The Lil Flea is Mumbai’s answer to everything fun, quirky and pop! As part of its third year celebration, they are holding their flea market at the Reliance Jio Garden for two weekends back to back. What Is It?
Curly Tales visited L’il Flea yesterday and we’ve got to tell you, it really is worth the hype. Here are the five new things that you’ve got to look out for in the Mumbai Edition:
1. Two Whole Weekends
Unlike earlier editions, The L’il Flea is back this time for two weekends. So if you’ve missed this weekend, don’t worry! You can attend in the coming weekend. For those who have attended this weekend, you know you’re going to want to revisit it.
Dates:
1st & 2nd April, 2017
8th & 9th April, 2017
2. Range Of New Stalls To Check Out
Most of The L’il Flea’s stalls from the previous editions have returned but we especially loved the new ones added as part of the third year anniversary celebrations. There are 100 outstation brands that have come in from all over the country to be a part of the flea market. Discover authentic Rajasthani prints, tribal jewellery from Udaipur, bags from Kanpur, handloom sarees from Bengal, zardosi bags from New Delhi and so much more.
We especially loved Mulberry’s with it’s fine printed linen sarees and silk ikats. Anhaya and White Noise also stand out for their minimalist prints and classy patterns. The Yellow Gypsy matches the L’il Flea vibes completely with it’s BoHo prints for men. A special, well-deserved shoutout to the jewellery collection at this year’s edition
3. Movie Under The Stars
Imagine sitting on the grass, with your drink in your hand, your friends by your side and bluetooth headphones that play you classics. Welcome to movie night under the stars at The L’il Flea. Movies include the French cult classic “Amelie”, Audrey Hepburn’s “Roman Holiday”, Jack Nicholson’s “As Good as It Gets” and Bicycle Thieves. Movie night begins at 10 pm sharp and ends at 12 midnight. Skip the theatre over the weekend and head to The L’il Flea instead.
4. Amazing Indie Music
What’s a pop-up without the best in music to accompany it? One act we can’t wait to watch is Clayton + All Stars: The full-power Jam. Seven of the most talented artists from across India will be coming together on on stage to celebrate music. Thaalavattam, from Bangalore is a band that makes music out of the most innovative, hand-made instruments. All their beautiful music is made out of waste plastic and metal. If that’s not music for a cause, we don’t know what is!
5. At Reliance Jio Gardens
The earlier editions of The L’il flea were held at MMRDA Grounds in BKC. This time the venue has moved to Reliance Jio Gardens. The L’il Flea has gotten more colourful, with happy BoHo vibes. There’s ample parking, lights and restroom facilities (instead of the makeshift toilets from earlier). The entire lawn has been carpeted with artificial grass and small sit-out areas. If you’re tired of walking around, just plop yourself down on the grass, relax and take in the good vibes.
If you’re done with Netflix and Chill, we suggest you Lil Flea and chill this weekend. There’s popcorn, love and plenty of good vibes.
