HH Sheikh Mohammed Shares An Emotional Message On UAE’s Aid For Taal Victims

Under the guidance of his Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, the UAE extended a helping hand to those affected by the recent eruption of the Taal volcano. And, after being moved the work of the UAE citizens, HH Mohammed shared a sentimental tweet on Twitter.

HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent took charge of UAE’s aid for the Taal victims. As part of the initiative, Emirates Red Crescent sent representatives to Manila, the Philippines. The team lead the relief operations, took care of the victims’ basic needs and ensured proper help was delivered to the affected.

HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was moved at how the UAE stood together to help the needy and shared an emotional message on Twitter. Here’s what it read:

“Humanity defines our society”

After WAM released photos of the aid taking place in the UAE, the proud ruler of Dubai tweeted, “Today, we saw humanity and tolerance unfold through the Emirates Red Crescent’s campaign that brought our citizens together with Filipino residents to provide aid to families affected by the Taal volcano in the Philippines. Humanity defines our society.”

The Taal Volcano erupted on 12 January spewing ash into the city. Although relief aids are in full swing, experts say that the country remains on a high alert level, as an explosive eruption could happen anytime.

What Else?

Meanwhile, the UAE also has plans in place to provide relief for the Australia bushfire. Australia is under fire, quite literally and Mother nature seems unstoppable. After months of the horrendous bushfire, hail, dust and storm are wreaking havoc. Dubai is working hard to provide flood relief for Australia. And, with Australia National Day around the corner, Dubai has some big plans in store.

1. Bidi Bondi, the Palm beach bar has teamed up with the Bull & Roo group, and urge you to donate for the cause. The event is in support of of the Australian Bushfires, with proceeds to go to Emirates Nature-WWF. The event will happen on Saturday 25 January from 10am onwards.

Besides, those who donates over AED 200 will receive a voucher for a free main meal! 

 

2. NRG Fitness in Marina is hosting a fundraiser in support of the Australian Bushfire. The fitness centre will launch their new RIDE&HiiT program to help raise awareness. And, 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Australian Relief.

3. Zero Gravity is also hosting a family-friendly event as part of raising funds for the bushfire. The event will happen on 26 January and will include Aussie food, live music, raffle draws, auctions, games, pool and beach access and more. The proceeds from the event will then be donated to the Australian bushfire relief effort.

Over 16,000 Australians live and work in the UAE, and Etihad, the Abu Dhabi-based airline earlier announced that it will waive off flight change charges for passengers affected by the ongoing chaos.
