These European Countries Are the Most Likely To Approve Schengen Visas For Indian Citizens In 2024

Navigating the Schengen visa process can be challenging for Indian citizens, but some countries stand out for their higher approval rates. In 2024, data reveals that Iceland, Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, and Belgium are among the top destinations where Indians are more likely to secure a Schengen visa.

Countries Most Likely To Approve Schengen Visas For Indians

Iceland leads the way with the highest approval rate for Indian nationals. Out of 2,904 applications submitted by Indians, 95.4 per cent were granted. This makes Iceland the most reliable Schengen country for Indian applicants. Only 122 applications were denied, showing that almost all requests received positive outcomes. However, Iceland was less likely to issue Multiple Entry Visas (MEVs), with only 18.29 per cent of the visas issued allowing multiple entries.

Germany is another strong contender, particularly for those looking for flexibility in travel. It granted 89.5 per cent of the visa requests submitted by Indians. In total, 132,825 applications were filed, and 118,819 of these were approved. Germany is also the leader when it comes to issuing MEVs, with an impressive 99.6 per cent of approved visas being multiple entry.

Indians Seeking To Visit Europe

Switzerland, meanwhile, issued the highest number of visas to Indian nationals in 2024. With 166,919 applications received, the country approved 88 per cent of them. Switzerland is a popular destination for Indian travellers, and its high approval rate reflects that. Like Germany, Switzerland also favours issuing MEVs, with 98.51 per cent of approved visas allowing multiple entries.

Though Luxembourg received fewer applications, it still maintained a high approval rate. Of the 3,090 visa requests submitted by Indians, 85.8 per cent were granted. Luxembourg is a smaller destination compared to others on the list, but its approval rate is encouraging for Indian travellers. However, the country was less likely to issue MEVs, with only 42.59 per cent of approved visas allowing multiple entries.

Belgium rounds out the list of favourable destinations for Indian nationals. The country issued 20,582 visas in 2024, approving 85.8 per cent of applications. Belgium also performed well in issuing MEVs, with 71.9 per cent of visas granted being multiple entry.

Overall, Indians seeking to visit Europe in 2024 have several good options. Iceland leads in overall approval rates, while Germany and Switzerland offer high chances for multiple entry visas. Luxembourg and Belgium also provide strong approval rates, making them reliable choices for Indian travellers.
