Recently, it was announced that four villages in Uttarakhand will soon be declared the ‘Best Tourism Village’. These will be honoured with the prestigious ‘National Tourism Award’ by the Union Ministry of India. Four Villages In Uttarakhand To Be Declared ‘Best Tourism Villages’
Four villages in Uttarakhand will be declared as the ‘Best Tourism Village’. They are Jakhol and Harhil in the Uttarkashi region, Seemant Gunji in the Pithoragarh region and Soupi in the Nainital region of Uttarakhand.
According to an article which was recently published by The Times Of India or TOI, the announcement was made by Pushkar Singh Dhami. He is the Chief Minister of this Indian state. The CMO or the Chief Minister’s Office also released a statement regarding this good news.
In the statement, the CM lauds the initiative to make Uttarakhand the premier tourist destination in India and says that it is yielding great results. The award will be bestowed to the village on International Tourism Day which is on Friday, September 27, 2024.
Other Important Details That You Would Need To Know
They will be recognised during a small ceremony held in New Delhi. These villages are being recognised for their distinctive offerings and tourist attractions.
Jakhol was chosen for its adventure sports offerings while Harshil and Seemant Gunji have been recognised as part of the Vibrant Village initiative. The hamlet of Soupi is getting recognition for promoting agricultural tourism.
