A family from Chhattisgarh’s Chataud village was returning from a family function in Bansari when the truck they were travelling in collided with a trailer near Saragaon. The fatal accident claimed at least 13 lives and left 11 severely injured. The accident happened on the Raipur-Balodabazar Road in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
Fatal Truck-Trailer Accident In Chhattisgarh Claims 13 Lives
According to the Hindustan Times report, four children (two girls, one boy, and a six-month-old infant) and nine women died in the road accident that occurred near Saragaon, Chhattisgarh. The accident happened on Sunday night and the injured were taken to Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Hospital, Raipur, for immediate medical assistance.
After the fatal road accident, emergency services rushed to the spot. They found 13 people dead due to the impact of the accident. According to Raipur Superintendent of Police, Lal Ummed Singh, the victims were returning from a ‘Chhathi’ ceremony. The event was held in Bana Banarsi village. While returning from the family event, when their vehicle collided with a trailer truck in Chhattisgarh’s Raipur.
Investigation Underway
While talking to the media, Raipur district collector Gaurav Singh confirmed that 13 people died and 11 were severely injured in the road accident in Chhattisgarh. The local police have registered a case, and the accident is being investigated now. Further details about the whole incident are awaited.
Earlier in May, a student tragically passed away in a horrific road accident in Chhattisgarh’s Karli area of Dantewada district. According to reports, the student was returning late at night after finishing his studies when a speeding car hit his scooter. The car was, reportedly, trying to avoid a buffalo on the road when the tragedy happened.
