The Scenic Railway is famous for its steepness. It holds the title of the world’s steepest passenger railway, with an incline of 52 degrees. Built in the 19th century, workers originally used it to transport coal miners into the Jamison Valley. Today, engineers continue to marvel at its design. Still owned and managed by the Hammon family, Scenic World has remained dedicated to maintaining the railway’s legacy while ensuring a comfortable and thrilling experience for tourists. Today, while the train boasts updated, secure carriages, it still captures the adventurous spirit of its original design.
