Understanding the cores of inclusivity and diversity, Mitti Cafe is a chain of cafes in India that employs people with special needs. Backed by MITTI Social Initiatives Foundation, they create employment opportunities for people with disabilities by training and hiring them in their cafes. Their aim is to provide economic independence to adults with physical, intellectual and psychiatric disabilities and persons from other vulnerable communities.

With their cafes, they also hope to create awareness about inclusion and disability rights. They have 47 cafes across India with some notable ones at the Supreme Court of India and Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi. The Mitti Cafe at Rashtrapati Bhavan was inaugurated by President Droupadi Murmu in June 2024. She even gave a shout-out to the cafe after its inauguration and lauded them for their amazing work.

According to their website, Mitti Cafes across India are managed by over 250 people with special needs. They have served more than 10 million meals and even curated 2 lakh gift boxes since its inception. Besides their cafes in Delhi, Mitti Cafe also has outlets in Gujarat High Court, Bengaluru-Mumbai-Lucknow International Airports, India Coffee House, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Wells Fargo, ANZ Bank, IQVIA offices, Hansraj College, and IIM Bangalore.

Mitti Cafe is the brainchild of Alina Alam and has received numerous accolades for its transformative work. Some of these awards include the Niti Ayog- Women Transforming India Award and the United Nations Intercultural Innovation Award.
