Nimrah Café and Bakery in Hyderabad is iconic for its Irani chai and biscuits.
What Is It?
This Irani cafe was opened in 1993 and today this has turned into an iconic place for grabbing breakfast and chai. This cafe and bakery is popular for its varieties of chai and osmania cookies. The options of chai includes Pauna (milkier version), Sulemani (black tea), Cutting chai (strong, smaller portion) and khade chamach ki chai- it is laden with so much sugar that it makes the spoon stand straight. Their cookies are freshly baked everyday and placed in large trays right out of the oven. Each tray has different varieties such as coconut, oats, jeera and salt cookies. In fact you can get an idea of how fresh the cookies are as it is claimed that every half an hour a new stock comes from the oven.
What Else ?
On a regular day when many vendors have barely set shop on the stretch where this cafe is situated you will have to jostle for space at Nimrah Cafe and Bakery. This doesn’t come as a surprise when the biscuits apparently melt in your mouth. Cookies other than osmania like kaju and pista taste good too. If you are not a die hard tea lover but still want to give it a shot then go for their cup of pauna. Pauna is made of thick milk with very just a slight flavor of chai. If you haven’t visited this place yet then it should definitely be in your bucket list for tea lovers. Also it is at a stone throw distance from charminar. Sulemani Chai and Charminar for a view, not a bad combination. What say?
