On this episode of Tere Gully Mein, we roamed the streets of Delhi with this extremely witty person! By the end of the episode, our cheeks and stomachs were aching with how much we laughed throughout the interview. We were curious to understand what inspired him to start doing stand-up comedy. What he revealed had us quite riveted!
This Is How Ravi Gupta Started His Journey In Stand-Up Comedy
This episode has to be one of the funniest ones. And why wouldn’t it be? Comedian Ravi Gupta is an absolute jester! He kept cracking jokes one after another and we couldn’t stop laughing. Amid all the laughter, we asked him about how he started on his stand-up journey.
He revealed that he was always attracted towards the art form. He was especially motivated after seeing the standup of Zakir Khan, the comic artist who is now a global sensation. So, little by little, he dipped his toes into the world of stand-up comedy.
Interestingly, the entire time he was experimenting with stand-up, he never left his corporate job. It was only when he felt like his career in stand-up had substantial potential and he couldn’t manage his work schedule alongside his stand-up schedule that he decided to leave his full-time job.
This Is What He Worked As Before Becoming A Comic
We were curious to know what job profile could such a creative person have. Well, we weren’t disappointed to learn what he worked as! He was a cartoonist! So it seems that he has always been a person who danced to his own tune!
We also enquired whether all his office-related humour and bits about HR were from personal experience.
He said that those scenarios are a reality for the majority of working people and so they don’t necessarily have to be from his personal experience. That’s also why, he believes, that those bits resonate so much with the audiences.
