Where has Tusshar Kapoor been? Although his big-screen appearances have become less frequent, he’s shared exciting news about upcoming projects. In the latest Sunday Brunch episode, our Editor-in-Chief Kamiya Jani visited him at his Juhu home, where they enjoyed a home-cooked Punjabi meal. Tusshar talked about his family, his bond with his sister Ekta Kapoor, his first job in Bollywood and his experience as an introverted actor in a noisy industry.

Tusshar Kapoor Talks About His Bollywood Journey

In a candid conversation with Kamiya Jani, Tusshar Kapoor opened up about his journey into the film industry, sharing how his love for movies guided his career. “I used to watch all the Hindi movies, so I was good in the business aspect of my education, but I was always passionate about films,” he says. Initially torn between acting and other roles, he explains, “The family said, ‘We will get you a job as an assistant director.’ So, I became an AD to David Dhawanji, who was making Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge at that time.” This role, he admits, was a chance to immerse himself in all aspects of filmmaking. “I realized that it would be an experience where I would get exposure to filmmaking aspects, whether it was editing, production, direction, cinematography, or acting.”

Tusshar also reflects on his introduction to Bollywood’s vibrant culture, noting, “David Dhawan’s film, you couldn’t get more Bollywood than that.” His path took a turn when Bhrami Jaffrey, a family friend and writer, recommended him to Vashu Bhagnani, leading to his acting debut. “After that, I got an acting job, and I thought, ‘Now I will do this 100%, putting all my efforts and focus, and I will see where it takes me.”

Tusshar Kapoor: “I Seek Advice From Myself”

Tusshar Kapoor opened up about his personal approach to seeking advice. When asked about whom he turns to for guidance, the actor shared, “I don’t seek advice. I don’t go to anybody. I seek advice from myself. I’m very private that way, so sorry I’m boring that way, but me, myself, my confidence, or I, me, myself. I think only we know what is best for us.” He added that while parents can offer valuable guidance, the ultimate direction comes from within.
